Commuters on the M25 near Leatherhead are facing major delays follwing a serious crash between a lorry and two cars earlier this morning.
It's understood an air ambulance has left the scene of the incident which occurred between Junction 8 near Brighton Road and Juction 10 (Wisley Interchange).
Eight miles of traffic is being reported back to Junction 6 (Godstone) with traffic reportedly struglling on the A240 and the A3.
Two miles of traffic trapped between Junction 9 and Junction 10 was turned around just before 8am.
It's understood the road will remain closed for a number of hours while emergency services continue to attend the scene.
Surrey Police and the Surrey Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
