The Teddington Pram Race takes place on June 30 and will be hosted by disability charity United Response – a charity that supports people living with learning disabilities and autism.

Matthew Campbell, United Response’s coordinator for the Teddington Pram Race said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be organising this year’s Teddington Pram Race and steering it to success for 2019.

“At United Response we’re passionate about investing in the local area, and this event is a true cornerstone of the community’s calendar.”

The pram race – which began in 2004, takes place on the same day as the Teddington Fair and requires all entrants to meet certain but fun criteria.

To take part, entrants must be in teams of between three and five people who must decorate a pram as well as dress up in crazy costumes before making their way along a specific route.

The route - which is just under a mile, starts at the Masons Arms pub and continues along Teddington High Street and ends at Udney Hall Gardens on Langham Road.

Checkpoints along the route will be in place and entrants will have to complete surprise challenges that the teams will have to carry out at each checkpoint stop.

Matthew added: “We’re very proud to be bringing local people together to have some fun, celebrate the town’s pride and raise some money to put back into the community.”
