AN ARSON investigation has been launched after firefighters were called to a caravan fire.

Crews from Burnley Fire Station put out the blaze in the abandoned caravan in Crown Point Road, Burnley, at around 12.25am today.

Crews spent around one hour battling the fire, the cause of which is now being investigated by police.

Nobody was injured during the incident, but the firefighters have warned that deliberately starting fires waste valuable time and can put lives at risk.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “When people deliberately start fires they take away resources from where they might be needed.

"We ask that people not start fires like this because crews might be needed somewhere else.”

Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

Anyone with information can call police on 101.
