Graham Potter will discover on Thursday morning where his Premier League journey starts with Albion when the fixtures are released.
He would love to hit the ground running in the way he did at Swansea last season.
The Welshmen won at Sheffield United and at home to Preston before draws against Birmingham and Leeds.
Nobody would have predicted then that Potter opened with a victory away to a team automatically promoted.
The Premier League is different, easier to assess from the off what the fixtures mean.
Albion began life in the top flight against Manchester City.
Their second and third fixtures last season were against Manchester United and Liverpool.
In each case teams you knew would end up in the top six.
The next group of seven clubs will include the likes of Leicester and Watford, faced early by the Seagulls in each of the previous two campaigns (Watford both times).
A new boss with different ideas will fuel the sense of anticipation when the running order is revealed at 9am on The Argus website.
