A victim of a New Malden robbery says he feels "angry and annoyed" after two suspects targeted him in a park.

The 23-year-old - who wished to remain nameless - was making his way home through Blagdon Road Open Space at about 6pm on Monday.

That was when two men approached him.

"They came up and shoved into me saying give me your Air Pods and phone or we will stab you," he said.

"Then they knocked the Air Pods out of my ears and I kicked and stamped on his hand when he tried to pick up one of the them, he asked why did I stamp on his hand.

"He kicked me in the leg and the other guy grabbed and tried to put me in a headlock. Then we were fighting and scuffling a bit."

He said he noticed a group of other men in the bushes while this was happening, but wasn't sure if they were involved or not.

They kept moving to Burlington Road where the 23-year-old continued to be pushed against a fence.

"They were basically standing in the middle of the road, still saying 'give me your phone' and threatening to stab me," he added.

"Then they heard a siren and ran off.

"At first I was confused and thought I had bumped into them and had actually apologised to them.

"I felt angry and annoyed that I lost my Air Pods. I was also protecting my bag as my work laptop was in it.

"I am very cross that they will probably get away with this and will continue hurting people. I didn't see a knife but they kept threatening to use it."

It also appears he wasn't the only victim that night.

Police were also called to reports of a robbery that happened at about 6pm in Blagdon Road.

On that occasion, it was a 14-year old boy who was approached by two unknown men.

"One of them stopped the victim by pushing his shoulder into him," a spokesman for the Met Police said.

"The suspects, threatened the victim and demanded his mobile phone. The victim believes one of the suspect’s had a knife.

"The victim handed over his phone and the suspects made-off in the direction of Burlington Road.

"The victim was not injured."

The suspects are described as black men, aged in their mid-to-late-teens.

Suspect one is about 5ft5ins, of slim build, with a small moustache. He was wearing a black hoodie and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Suspect two is about 5ft6ins, with short dreadlocks. He was wearing a grey hoodie, a think black coat and black tracksuit bottoms.
