Police have named the 75-year-old man who died after being hit by a car in Mottingham.
Tim Hodges, a retired Metropolitan Police officer, died last weekend after he was hit by a red Volkswagen Fox 55 on April 24.
The pensioner was struck on Beaconsfield Road and police have issued a fresh appeal for information.
Detective Sergeant Steve Cannings said: "This collision took place on a busy shopping parade at a time when there was heavy footfall. I am confident that there are people who witnessed the incident but didn’t realise how serious it was. I am appealing for these people to contact police.
"We are building a picture of the sequence of events that led up to this collision and no matter how insignificant it may seem, your information could be a vital piece of the puzzle."
The driver of the red Volkswagen stopped at the scene and is assisting with police enquiries.
Tim was taken to Kings College Hospital after the crash but died from a serious head injury on May 11.
No arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to call investigating officers on 02082851574.
