Lee Bowyer is not a man to play mind games ahead of their semi-final play-off showdown with Doncaster this Sunday.

The Charlton manager wouldn’t be drawn in to a spat with his opposite number after Donny boss Grant McCann claimed ‘momentum is overrated’ ahead of the two legged encounter.

Doncaster won five of their last 15 league games to clinch sixth place on the final day of the regular season, whilst Charlton won ten of their last 15.

“I’m not getting caught up in all the things that are said between managers and players because they have their opinion on the game and what the outcome will be and we’ll have ours,” said Bowyer.

“All I’ll say is we respect them and we’ll turn up on Sunday with the utmost respect because they’ve done a great job to get there so have we.

“Two teams not tipped for top six, but were in it.

“We’ll turn up, respect them, and try win the game.”

The Charlton boss believes are in a good place however after scoring ten in their last three fixtures, finishing with a 4-0 win over Rochdale at The Valley last Sunday.

“We are creating and more importantly taking chances,” Bowyer continued.

“We are in a good place.

“This club, this football team, we are doing the right things and looking strong.

“We’ve got a full squad and that’s why.

“We haven’t had that on many occasions this season, but when we do and we pick the right people we’ve been more ruthless.

“We are a good side when we do things right and at the moment we are doing things right.”
