Nothing has been achieved yet according to Charlton manager Lee Bowyer.

In the run up to Sunday’s first leg semi-final play-off at Doncaster, the Addicks boss re-iterated the importance of treating the fixture like any other.

The Charlton manager who guided the club to the play-off defeat last season spoke of his pride in getting this far but insists the job is not yet complete as they face a Donny side who finished sixth in the league.

“I’m looking forward to it,” said Bowyer.

“We’re in a good place, and we’re a better side than last year.

“We’ve done well, we’ve improved, but we’ve done nothing yet.

“I won’t enjoy it until I get promoted and there’s a long way to go until then, so we’ll keep working hard and get us better.”

Knowing the winner of the two-legged semi-final will step out at Wembley on May 26, Bowyer admitted the build up to the first leg at the Keepmoat Stadium will have a different feel about it, an effect the manager is trying to dampen.

“It’ll be two tough games, Doncaster are a good side.

“We won’t let the occasion get to them, we’ll keep them level, and make it a normal a week as we can.

“We’ll prepare them the best we can.

“We’ll keep the standard high and not let complacency slip in, we can’t afford that to happen.

“But once they step on the pitch you don’t know how they’ll handle the occasion.

“We’ve got some young players, so we’ll try and keep it like a normal Saturday league game and go and win the next game.

“Win the next three and we are promoted!”

Midfielder Joe Aribo who’s netted three in his last three echoed his manager’s words of maintaining focus.

“You can’t let the occasion get the better of you, you’ve just got to stick to what you would normally be doing and don’t try and change, because if you do that then you’re thinking too much.

“We’ve just got to have a normal week really.”

The much-talked about youngster spoke of the mood around the training ground, stating there was a ‘buzz’ looking ahead to the fixtures.

“All the boys are just buzzing, and we can’t wait to get ready to go.

“Training’s going good this week.

“There’s high spirits and we just want to get back out there and play.

"When we’re going into the game there’s that sense of confidence, we feel like we can go out there and do the job that we have to do.

“There’s just that buzz and we’ve got the fans with us, backing us, and it just feels a lot better than compared to last year”
