A football league aimed at giving young kids an enjoyable place to play on weekends has appealed to the public for support.

Selsdon Little League sees boys and girls aged between seven and 14 head down to Sanderstead Recreation ground every Saturday morning.

Morgan Muslu is one of the people who helps organise things and said that in order for them to keep delivering the service, more volunteers are needed.

"The ethos of little league is that everyone has a fair and enjoyable experience throughout the season whereby all players are distributed fairly into teams," he said.

"This will mean all young people and volunteers involved can have a memorable and joyful experience.

"However this wouldn’t be possible without the support of the volunteers who make this league possible and we are in dire need to keep this brilliant organisation running."

Morgan coaches one of the sides, who for the second year running won their league and the league cup.

"This just goes to show that through the ethos of Little League, that outstanding achievements can be achieved and that everyone involved can have a fun and eventful time."
