A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was left with head and back injuries after a “seemingly unprovoked” attack.
The incident happened on Friday evening in Hassocks and police are linking it to damage done to a nearby telephone kiosk.
Paramedics alerted police after they were called to Keymer Road shortly before 11pm. The victim had been struck repeatedly and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Brighton for treatment and remained in hospital overnight.
Sussex Police said they would be “interested to hear about a group of youths who were in the area around the same time”.
They are urging anyone with information to report it online or call 101 quoting serial 1319 of 15/03.
