Kingston Chamber of Commerce (KCOC) is hosting an event in Surbiton this Thursday (March 8) to mark International Women's Day.

The event will focus on the International Women's Day 2019 campaign theme of #BalanceforBetter — a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world.

It will take place at Hillcroft College, Surbiton,

A preview for the event said that it would feature inspiring women speakers from the world of business and also live panel discussions and a Q and A session.

KCOC said one aspect of the event would be: "Identifying ways to demonstrate more courage every day, as well as how to overcome the inevitable obstacles we all face."

Among the billed speakers are Nicolle Anderson, co-owner of all-female professional services company Business Clan.

Ms Anderson will examine topics including how business women today "face the same challenges that they have faced for the past 60 years," and discussing how Business Clan "are are challenging the traditional work model," KCOC said.

Also speaking will be Keynote speaker Adrienne Gibson, whose talk will look at "the courage to challenge and make change" in the workplace and beyond it.

Business Clan is sponsoring the event, which will be held at the Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Education College in Surbiton this Thursday from 10am-12pm.
