A woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after a toddler was allegedly found wandering alone in Sutton.
Police were called shortly after 5pm on February 8 to reports of a two-year-old boy wandering alone in Rosehill Avenue.
When officers attended they were met by a member of the public who found him.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said the child had no injuries, and was later put into police protection.
Further enquiries were carried out before a 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect two hours later shortly after 7pm.
She was taken to a police station and later bailed to return on a day early next month.
Enquiries remain ongoing.
