The jury in the Alfie Lamb manslaughter trial has retired to consider its verdicts.
The three-year-old was allegedly crushed when his mother's boyfriend Stephen Waterson twice reversed his electric car seat into him on February 1 last year.
Waterson, 25, from Croydon, south London, has denied manslaughter, along with mother Adrian Hoare, 23, who allegedly failed to stop him.
The nightclub worker has also pleaded not guilty to intimidating Marcus Lamb, a witness in the case, while hairdresser Hoare denies child cruelty and assaulting another witness, Emilie Williams.
Jurors at the Old Bailey have been told the defendants and Ms Williams have admitted conspiracy to pervert the course of justice by lying to police.
