A trespasser on the tracks between Surbiton and Earlsfield is expected to cause peak hour delays for South Western Railway.
A statement posted on the train company's site said Network Rail staff and the police are trying to deal with the situation.
"For the safety of all those involved, the power to the track has had to be switched off which means that all lines towards London between Surbiton and Earlsfield are blocked," it read.
"To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost to yourself, on the following services:
- London Underground between Wimbledon and London Waterloo
- London Buses between Surbiton/ Hampton and London Waterloo
"For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
Initially the dealsy were only expected to last until 7pm, but SWR said that they will now last until at least 9pm tonight.
