Plans to demolish the New Malden Homebase and a nearby unused pub to make way for more than 300 homes could soon be submitted.
In November last year, development company Fairview held a public exhibition to discuss and gather feedback on the plans for the site in Kingston Road.
Display boards shown at the meeting read that the company was looking to build 320 homes on the retail site as well as the now empty Prince of Wales pub.
Now another public meeting is being held to clarify what changes, if any, have been made to the 5-9 storey development since the first meeting.
"I can confirm that Fairview is holding a design workshop on Thursday, January 24," a spokesman for Fairview said.
"The purpose of the meeting will be to review the previous scheme presented at the public exhibition, assess comments and look at options for how to resolve concerns.
"This will be used to further develop the proposals before another public exhibition showing the updated scheme later this year. Residents must RSVP to the workshop as places are strictly limited.
"A planning application for the site will be submitted later this year after Fairview’s consultation has concluded."
The current development concept would see 35 per cent of the 320 homes be classed as affordable in an effort to "meet local need."
There would also be 144 car parking spaces and 600 spots for bicycles.
According to the display boards shown at the first meeting, Fairview are hoping to submit an application to the council sometime in spring this year.
