A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed on the platform at Weybridge Station this morning, the British Transport Police has confirmed.

The man, who has not been named, was treated by paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service and taken to hospital but his condition is not yet known.

Officers from British Transport Police were called to Weybridge station at 11.07am to reports of a serious assault on one of the platforms.

Another man, who has not been named, has been arrested by officers nearby to Weybridge station and is being transported to custody.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses who saw what happened to get in touch.
