A homelessness charity has been awarded a £4,000 cheque to provide Kingston’s homeless population with shelter, clothing and a hot meal.
Volunteers at Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness were handed a giant cheque last week awarded by CharityJob as part of the job board’s annual Christmas donations.
Every year, CharityJob employees nominate a number of charities to receive a share of 10 percent of their profits.
Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness, which is based in St Peter's Church on London Road, began a night shelter in September to tackle homelessness in the borough.
Robyn Archard, Katie Malham and Jamie Fraser from CharityJob nominated the Kingston charity after volunteering at the night shelter.
