Pupils at Southborough High School in Surbiton have spent an afternoon playing bingo and singing carols with senior citizens last week.
The annual event, which is in its 10th year, is held each year during the festive period to thank senior citizens living in Surbiton for their contributions to the community.
Residents of Edward Pinner Court and Bidmead Court enjoyed an afternoon packed with food and drink and activities such as bingo, raffle draws and a Christmas quiz.
Southborough High School staff donated over 100 presents, including bottles of wine, chocolates, candles and scarves, to use as prizes throughout the day.
Members of the school’s catering club, the Greedy Griffins, prepared afternoon tea with sandwiches, sausage rolls, cupcakes, mince pies and shortbread all made by students from scratch.
Headteacher Niall Smith said: “We love hosting this special event each year. Students of all age groups mingle with our guests and it’s wonderful to see both young and old get on so well and have fun chatting, eating, singing and even playing bingo together.”
