Demelza children's hospice in Eltham is asking locals to help buy items from its Christmas wishlist.

The charity has a list of toys, games and other items which children will be able to enjoy.

As a charity, not part of the NHS, Demelza is reliant on fundraising, donations and gifts in wills to raise the £10.5 million needed every year to provide care to children with serious and terminal conditions.

These items will help children and their families have hours of fun, help develop their skills and could be used in music and art therapy sessions.

Items on the list include:

Art supplies

Sensory toys (anything with lights/music)

CDs/DVDs/Xbox games

Books

Toiletries

Silk scarves

Vouchers

Alternatively, help is needed to fund two children’s Christmas parties for Demelza children along with their brothers and sisters.

The charity is asking people not to buy and donate items not on the wishlist, as often they might not be suitable for Demelza children.

In addition, this year Demelza is one of more than 40 charities to benefit from Heart FM’s Giving Tree at Bluewater Shopping Centre, which supplies gifts for siblings of Demelza children.
