Lidl has confirmed it is opening a store in Hackbridge.
It had been rumoured that the supermarket chain would be opening a shop in town, but now its regional head of property has confirmed what many were hoping for.
"We are delighted to be opening a new store in Hackbridge, which marks another milestone in our ambitious store expansion programme," Chris Young-Wootton said.
"We've seen incredible demand for Lidl stores across the country and look forward to offering our quality products and incredible value to shoppers in the area.”
The 1600sqm development is due to open in 2020 and will create about 40 jobs.
