Plans are in to install pop-up bars and restaurants by The O2 in North Greenwich.

The owners of the entertainment complex have proposed an external food and drink area in an empty site to the north of the dome.

According to documents submitted to the council: “This application seeks to utilise this external area for a new food and beverage concept within The O2.

“The proposal is to create a space with flexible seating and dining which can change and evolve with seasonal changes throughout the year.”

The developer has plans for food stands and pop-up seating, which will be used in conjunction with a physical unit in The 02 which already has permission.

“Open areas will allow for pop-up seating and food stands. All fixtures will be on wheels or have a means to allow them to be moved. The area is demised through screening and living walls,” the application explains.

The application is currently being considered by officers.

Earlier this year the council approved a 3,000-capacity venue close to The O2 which has since been named Magazine, and will open next summer.
