A Parkinson’s charity is appealing for volunteers to fill a number of positions in its team.
Parkinson's is a degenerative neurological condition, for which there currently is no cure. The main symptoms of the condition are tremor, slowness of movement and rigidity.
Parkinson’s UK’s Sutton, Kingston and Epsom branch is looking to fill the vacant volunteer positions of Vice Chair, Secretary, Membership Secretary, Events Co-Ordinator, Media and Marketing Co-Ordinator and general committee members.
Terri Dorman, Area Development Manager for South London at Parkinson’s UK in South London, said: “Whether you have a personal connection to Parkinson’s or not, volunteering is a hugely fulfilling experience.
“You get the opportunity to meet new people and help improve the lives of some of the 145,000 people who are living with Parkinson’s in the UK”
Parkinson’s UK’s Sutton, Kingston and Epsom branch provides a wide range of activities for people with Parkinson’s and hosts regular cafes for people affected by Parkinson’s and their families to meet up with other people affected by the condition.
These are held every month at 7.30 pm at Epsom and New Malden. They also host a wide range of activities and welcome new members.
