The Rotary Club of Ewell has appealed for money donations from local residents to help eradicate fuel poverty in the local area.

The Rotary Club is working together with Citizens Advice Epsom and Ewell to launch “project Wenceslas” this coming winter.

Recipients of winter fuel payments who do not need it can donate the money to the rotary club so it can be redistributed to people in critical need of assistance with fuel bills.

Maureen Kilminster, Rotarian Club team member, said: “‘Although we live in a fairly affluent area, there are still people in the borough who need our help, particularly as the weather is turning colder and the need to keep warm becomes a necessity. Please help if you can.”

If you would like to know more about donating, you can contact Ewell Rotary via their website
