Two people were taken to hospital after inhaling smoke in a suspected house fire on Cox Lane in West Ewell today.
South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed attending reports of a house fire on Cox Lane at 8.30am today (October 29).
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "Two patients, suffering from smoke inhalation were assessed and treated before being taken to hospital."
Pictures published on social media this morning show a big cloud of black smoke visible from afar, following the ‘house fire’ in West Ewell.
Eyewitnesses took to social media this morning and reported seeing a helicopter hovering on the scene.
A Surrey Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called shortly before 8am to a fire in Cox Lane, West Ewell and sent four fire engines, a water carrier and some specialist vehicles to extinguish a large fire in a mobile home.
"Two fire engines remain on the scene.'
