An art event in Bromley is aiming to offer an “immersive, creative space” for artists affected by depression and broader mental health issues.

The I Ain’t Done event was the brainchild of Jessika Downes-Gossl, founder and creative director of not-for-profit organisation Ninety9Moments.

She hopes the day can draw together creatives affected by mental health issues in a communal setting that will combine interactive art projects with discussions around mental health and our approaches to it.

The 25-year-old said: “As a suicide survivor and someone who was suffering under the weight of depression, I was desperate to find a creative environment where myself and others of like mind could come together."

The genesis moment for creating Ninety9Moments and the I Ain't Done event came after Jessika failed to find any creative space that focused on bringing artists affected by depression together.

“This will be the first of its kind in the UK,” she told News Shopper.

Attendees will “literally step into an immersive art experience” where a host of creative talents from singer-songwriters to Youtubers will lead discussions that aim to “plant the seeds” for creative impulses for everyone who has been affected by depression and related issues, she said.

“This is going to be the launch for something greater,” she added, suggesting “building a wider community without the stigma” that in the past has often accompanied discussions around depression and suicide was the goal.

I Ain't Done is taking place on November 17 from 2pm to 7pm at the BCC church in Masons Hill.
