A mural bearing the names of the 444 local people killed during First World War has been unveiled at the Ashley Centre.
The mural was shown to the public for the first time today (October 11) by the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell Cllr Neil Dallen at The Ashley Centre.
It will remain on display in the shopping centre opposite Quest for just one month until November 11, to mark the centenary since the end of the war.
In addition to the mural, visitors to the Ashley Centre will spot a sculpture of a soldier standing on top of the shopping centre.
It was designed by John Sedgwick Evelyn Lawrence, an 18-year old student at City of London Freemen's School.
At the unveiling, Paul Chamberlain, a trumpeter in Christchurch Music Group Epsom stood next to the soldier statue and played The Last Post and Rouse Reveille.
The Ashley Centre has appealed to local families to share their stories and the part their loved ones played during the war.
