Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses after a reported robbery on a footpath near Leatherhead Football Club last week.

The alleged incident is said to have happened on September 29 between 5.45pm and 6pm on the footpath that runs alongside the River Mole and backs onto Leatherhead Football Club off Guildford Road.

A man was reportedly approached by two men and  threatened with what is believed to be a retractable blade knife before taking his cash.

The two men are described as having beards that go from ear to ear around their chins, but not around their mouths.

The first man was wearing blue tracksuit trousers and a top with a black stripe running down the arms and outer leg. The second man was all in black and one of his shoes had a tear in it, exposing his toes.

Investigating officer Police Constable Stephen Grout said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this happen, or has seen either of the two men described around the town or in that area, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with any information should contact Surrey Police on 101 or use report.police.uk and quote the reference number PR/45180104394.”

Alternatively information can be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
