Saffron Summer in Chessington is holding a charity evening dinner during National Curry Week next month.
National Curry Week, which runs from October 20 to 28, was founded by the late Peter Grove, who lived in Epsom, sees considerable sums raised for good causes around the county.
The Chessington curry house announced they will be donating £5 to a world hunger charity for every person to attend their fundraising dinner on Monday, October 22.
Money raised will be donated to the Curry For Change, a UK charity which helps rural families around the world grow enough food and earn an income.
Each meal, which costs £24.95 per head, comprises of three starters, four mains served with butter naan and a saffron and cumin pulao and a choice of coconut of vanilla ice cream and pistachio kulfi.
Chef Awanish Roay said: “Each £50 we donate pays to train 10 women in the skills needed to grow food and start small businesses to build a secure future for their families.”
Restaurant owner Ralph Sousa said: “Diners have the opportunity to relish the distinctive flavours from different regions of Indian in one night and raise money for a good cause too.”
