Budding poets, rappers and beatboxers in Kingston aged 13 to 25 are invited to a free day of workshops and performances in October.

The event will be held at the Hook and Chessington Library on October 22, with workshops from 1pm and an open mic session and live performance form 5.30pm.

The day will feature workshops from poets Anthony Anaxagorou, Bridget Minamore and Momtaza Mehri, as well as from beatboxer Bellatrix.

The day will feature performances from Momtaza Mehri and Bellatrix and opportunities for other local young people to perform.

The event has been curated by local young people from the borough, who have been working with the library to programme the day.

It’s part of the Be My Next Inspiration programme, which seeks to encourage young people across London to engage with poetry.
