Last week, the Mayor and Mayoress of Kingston cut the ribbon on a new home care agency in Chessington.
Cllr Thay Thayalan and Mrs Lata Thayalan declared Radfield Home Care Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow in Oakcroft Road open.
The Mayor praised the dedication of carers in supporting vulnerable people living in their own homes.
The home care agency serves all three boroughs, including Berrylands, Norbiton, Surbiton, Tolworth, Chessington, Ditton Hill, Hook in Kingston.
Cllr Thayalan said: “It is heartwarming to hear how passionate Radfield Home Care is about making a positive difference to people’s lives.
“Currently over 65s account for 14 percent of Kingston's population and by 2044, estimates suggest this will be closer to 20 percent. This is a similar picture for other London boroughs.”
Shamsah Lalji, owner and director of the care home, said: “I grew up in a household living with an aunt who has physical disabilities and witnessed the importance of carers first hand”.
