A 66 year old man from Cobham has been arrested, after reports of threatening behaviour with a firearm on Freelands Road in Cobham.

Surrey Police were called to a property at 11.30am today (Friday August 31), and officers remain on the scene to carry out investigations.

The weapon has been seized and forensics will take place to determine what the firearm is.

It is reported that two South East Coast Ambulance paramedics were called to the property and it is believed a man pulled out what is believed to be an imitation firearm on the staff.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “We understand that residents may be concerned about the police presence in the area.

“We would like to reassure the public we believe this to be an isolated event, and there are no cause for concerns.”

The man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of firearm with intent to cause fear of violence under Section 16A of the firearms act.

South East Coast Ambulance confirmed they attended an address in Freelands Road today.
