A special police constable has been dismissed without notice, after he pleaded guilty to indecent image offences.

Darren Baker, formerly attached to the south west command unit which covers Kingston, answered allegations of discreditable conduct at a special case hearing panel on Wednesday, August 29.

Mr Baker pleaded guilty on June 19 to eight counts of making, possessing and distributing indecent photographs/images of children at Woolwich Crown Court.

He was sentenced to 14 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, and will be on the sex offenders register for 10 years.

A ten-year sexual harm prevention order was imposed, and Mr Baker has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
