A man has been charged in connection with a string of robberies and burglaries in Epsom and Woking.

The robberies relate to offences at an address in Loop Road, Woking on July 7 and Woodcotes Road, Epsom, June 30.

Joyce Burgess, 84, was in her Woking home when the robbery took place and died in hospital three days after the attack.

Johnny Brazil, 26, of no fixed abode has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm in relation to the attack on Mrs Burgess.

The three burglary charges relate to offences in Honeypots Road, Howards Road and Vicarage Road, Woking, and an attempted burglary in Balfour Avenue, Woking – all on July 8.

He was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

He has been remanded in custody and will be appearing at Staines Magistrates Court today (August 2).
