An Epsom based charity has been chosen as charity of the year by Marks and Spencer’s Epsom.

Love Me Love My Mind (LMLMM) is a small charity which aims to promote a greater understanding of mental health and offers support to people with mental health concerns.

LMLMM is run entirely by volunteers, whether this is people volunteering their time or supporting the charity financially.

They hold two weekly drop-in session where people can share their concerns or just be supported in a safe place. They also hold a weekly self-help group for people experiencing anxiety or depression.

One of its biggest achievements is the annual Epsom Mental Health and Well-Being Festival.

The festival is free to attend and has several activities and events. This year’s theme is “New Beginnings” and will be held in October.

Sam Cope, Store Manager M&S Epsom, said: “I am very proud the store team chose Love Me Love My Mind as our charity to support for the year 2018/2019. We look forward to working together to raise funds and awareness over the coming year.”

Sue Bull, Chair of LMLMM, said “To have been chosen as Epsom Marks & Spencer’s Charity of the Year was a great surprise and we are delighted that, by supporting us in this way, you have recognised the valuable part we play in promoting well-being. So, to all of you we would like to say a very big thank-you.”
