Surrey Police have appealed for information after a man was stabbed in his lower back in Ewell.

The victim was walking with a friend across the grass on Gadesden Road towards Always Avenue on Thursday (July 26) when he was attacked between 10pm and 11pm.

Police say a group of four men spoke to the victim before assaulting him.

During the onslaught the victim was stabbed in the lower back before he escaped onto Always Avenue before making his was to hospital.

His condition is serious but not life threatening.

A police spokesman said: “The four men are described as all white, wearing dark clothing and face coverings. Two of the men are believed to have left on a motorcycle that was parked in Baker Place.

“The third man is described as white, 5’10”-6’, in his early 20s. He had a scraggly dark beard. He was wearing a dark baseball cab pulled very low on his face. A dark hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

“The fourth man is described as white, 5’6” tall, approximately 20 years old. He had short dark hair which was shorter at the sides and back and was wearing a white t-shirt.”
