For 90 minutes each week, footballers around the country come together to do battle.
But for the past 90 years it has been the Kingston Referees' Society that has kept those teams in check.
Founded in 1928, members of the society have regularly been officials at both national and international matches.
From the FA Cup to the League Cup, this group of Kingston refs have done it all.
So it was cause to celebrate when 60 of the finest to ever grace the field got together to celebrate the society's 90th birthday.
Chairman Gerry Kehoe was at the celebration and was delighted to catch up with some old friends.
"Members of this society can be proud of their achievements over the past 90 years," he said.
"We are now looking to develop the next generation of referees and are introducing a number of initiatives that should appeal to young referees and help them reach the heights of the game in the future.”
