Epsom Square’s May Party went down a storm over the weekend - almost literally - with heavy rain not dampening the festivities.
Live music was performed by Borders Acoustic Duo, Jenny Lockyer, Epsom Youth Big Band and The Rusty Rovers, all performed under Surrey’s largest ‘jumbrella.’
The jumbo-sized umbrella was very welcome on May 12, and those who braved the rain showers were rewarded with tasty free samples provided by Epsom Square’s restaurants and cafes.
University for the Creative Arts’ students ran a bag-printing stall, to fundraise for their final year show.
MGSO4 Epsom & Ewell Arts Festival raffled a pair of tickets to one of their headline events - The BB Horns’ jazz funk cabaret - with drinks and a meal cooked by Le Raj Academy.
The Mayor, Cllr Liz Frost, welcomed party-goers and commended Epsom Square for its efforts to encourage new visitors to the town with “eating, lifestyle and culture.”
The restaurant and leisure hub, including Epsom Library, was renovated and re-branded in 2017.
