More than two million Lego bricks are to be put together at Sandown Park Racecourse this summer for a wild exhibition.

The "Great Brick Adventure", by the UK's only Lego certified business Bright Bricks, will be open from August 17 to 19.

More than 80 life-sized Lego models of animals, including lions, tigers and meerkats, will be put up in Surrey Hall, with organisers promising an "immersive" experience, with lighting and sound and some of the models being interactive.

Esher Hall will also host a mythical beasts display, with more than 20 models including mermaids, dragons and a minotaur.

Bright Bricks director Duncan Titmarsh said: “We’re looking forward to bringing the jungle to Surrey this summer. The Great Brick Adventure has gone from strength to strength and we’re expecting to welcome thousands of visitors across the three days.

"It’s a fantastic day out for the whole family and we cannot wait to share our creations with our visitors.”

Other activities will include using remote-controlled battling robots made from Lego in tournaments, as well as "free play" areas for children and adults to build their own constructions and contribute to a giant mosaic.

The Great Brick Adventure will be open from 10am to 6pm on each day.

Cheaper tickets are available until May 31.
