A serving Surrey Police officer has been suspended and remanded in custody after breaching his bail conditions.
Sergeant Matt Taylor, 30, who was based at Camberley Police Station, was arrested and charged last September for an allegation of coercive control.
After his arrest, he was placed into a restricted role in which he did not deal with the public.
On December 21 he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court and pleaded not guilty.
A trial date was set for July this year and he was released on conditional court bail.
On March 23 he was re-arrested for breach of his bail and appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court and as a result has been remanded in custody and suspended.
According to Surrey Police, his original charge was not released at the time “due to concerns for the welfare of the victim”.
