The A246 Young Street in Leatherhead will be closed for approximately five weeks from April 16.

This is to carry out essential maintenance on Mole Bridge, which needs urgent resurfacing due to wear of the waterproof layer.

The council said that unfortunately the bridge is too narrow to keep one lane open.

Tina Thorburn, from the Highways Team, said: “We hope it will only take five weeks, but inevitably this will this will lead to some disruption. We will do everything possible to keep it to a minimum.

“A signed diversion route will be put in place and you will still be able to access Bockett’s Farm via the B2122 Guildford Road.”
