Esher and Walton MP Dominic Raab has been named the new Housing and Planning minister in Prime Minister Theresa May’s latest cabinet reshuffle.
His appointment comes alongside the change of the Department for Communities and Local Government to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
Communities Secretary Sajid Javid maintains his role as Secretary of State of the department.
The government has said the change reflects its focus on building more homes in England.
Mr Raab was minister for Courts and Justice for nearly seven months, having held the role until today from June 12, 2017.
His fellow Elmbridge MP, who represents Runnymede and Weybridge, Phillip Hammond, has retained his position as Chancellor of the Exchequer.
