The Edge Youth Centre in Ewell has been temporarily closed while improvement works are carried out, the council has stated.
Surrey County Council expects the centre in Rowden Road to be re-opened later this summer with a “few small activities” taking place, before it becomes fully operational again in the autumn, a spokesman advised.
Youth clubs including theatre groups and sessions for people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are offered at the centre, along with babysitting courses, and music and art sessions.
The county council spokesman advised sessions would also be held at Focus Youth Centre in Depot Road, Epsom.
“We are also pleased that a number of community groups have expressed an interest in using the building once it is reopen,” the spokesman added.
“We are very much looking forward to re-establishing a thriving Centre for local young people.”
