Over a thousand members of the ACS Cobham school community had a fun-packed day at the annual fundraiser event, ‘Party for the Planet’.

Now in its thirteenth year, the 2017 event raised over £14,000 for the school’s charities, including the Namibia fund, Disaster Relief Fund and Cancer Relief fund.

Throughout the day, guests enjoyed a host of games, face-painting, bouncy castles and rides, as well as the international bar and food court serving traditional delicacies from over 20 different countries around the world.

Meanwhile, students from across the school provided the music and entertainment for the day, taking to the Party for the Planet outdoor stage to perform over 30 acts.

Another highly anticipated event on the day was the auction, which saw bidders win ‘priceless prizes’, including a signed Andy Murray shirt.  The auction and raffle added over £5,000 to the day’s total fundraising.

Dema Tabbalat and Allan Scott, who chaired the Party for the Planet PSO Committee, commented:

“Every year we are astounded at the generosity and community spirit of the whole school – we are thrilled with the fundraising total and everyone left with smiling faces. Students, parents and staff worked so hard and the event is a fantastic way to celebrate the many talents of our international community while raising money for some amazing causes.”
