Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a teenager was stabbed in the leg and torso in a Chessington playground.

The 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital after the attack in Woodgate Avenue, which happened at about 9.30pm on Wednesday.

The boy's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, the Metropolitan Police said, but he is still in hospital.

A spokesman added: "The victim was approached by two suspects who were riding bicycles.

"The suspects assaulted the teenager before fleeing the scene.

"It is not known what was used to inflict the injuries."

Police are hunting two men.

The first was described as white and aged between 17 and 20. He was slim, about 6ft, with shaved dark har, and was wearing a bandanna to cover his face, plus a white vest top and dark shorts.

The second was also described as white and aged between 17 and 20. He was about 6ft, of average build, with short dark hair. He was said to be wearing a dark, hooded tracksuit top and dark trousers.
