The Olympic spirit was alive in Kingston as the borough’s biggest carnival returned with Brazilian dancers, music and a colourful parade.

Revellers lined the streets for Kingston Carnival on Sunday, which every year celebrates multiculturalism in the borough with a festive parade and live music.

The Market Place stage hosted favourite artists such as The Heatwave, former Lightyear frontman Chas Palmer-Williams and the Brazilian samba reggae Tribo Band during the day.

The carnival, which celebrated its 15th birthday this year, is organised by the Kingston Race and Equalities Council and Banquet Records.
