The newly-elected Police and Crime Commissioner has announced Nick Ephgrave is his preferred Chief Constable of Surrey Police.
PCC David Munro, who was elected in May, made the selection after a 'rigorous' assessment process on Monday, June 13.
Mr Munro said: "I am confident that he will do an outstanding job leading Surrey Police, and I look forward to working with him during my term of office."
Mr Ephgrave was appointed temporary Chief Constable in December 2015 following the departure of Lynne Owens, now the director-general of the National Crime Agency.
Prior to that, he was a Commander in the Metropolitan Police.
Mr Ephgrave said: "It’s great to be able to carry on the work of the last six months with the Chief Officer team that we created.
"I look forward to a fruitful and productive relationship with the Police and Crime Commissioner, to drive forward his police and crime plan."
