London mayoral hopeful Zac Goldsmith has pledged £200,000 towards a revamp of three Kingston parks, if he were to be elected.

The Conservative MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston confirmed the plan on a visit to Surbiton on April 13, with Greater London Assembly candidate Tony Arbour.

The money would go towards improving Alexandra Park, Beverley Park and Claremont Gardens.

In Alexandra Park the playing facilities would be extended and the pavilion spruced up.

In Beverley Park the gardens would be regenerated and security improved to prevent vandalism.

For Claremont Gardens the money would go towards promoting the park for public events and improving the water features.
