A fallen tree on train lines at Ashtead caused long delays to trains between Epsom and Effingham Junction and Dorking this afternoon.
The tree was cleared after around half an hour, but the company confirmed customers could still face delays.
Just before 1pm South West Trains reported the incident via Twitter, and announced that trains lines to Guildford (via Leatherhead), Dorking and Effingham had been affected, causing delays of up to 30 minutes.
Because of a tree on the line at #Ashtead all lines are currently blocked. Trains to Dorking and Guildford (via Leatherhead) are affected.— South West Trains (@SW_Trains) August 26, 2015
Then shortly after 1.30pm they reported the tree had been cleared and services were to resume.
Local Transport for London bus 465, Buses Excetera, First Great Western and Southern trains were accepting tickets from South West Trains as replacement services.
