People lapped up the sunshine as the first Proms in the Park got off to a tuneful start.

Artists from the borough took to the stage to deliver varied and entertaining performances.

Kids and adults alike were kept busy as musical numbers provided the soundtrack on Friday night, before Leisure Live began on Saturday, July 4, with pop up rugby demonstrations, a scooting challenge and arts and crafts.

Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: "I am delighted the first Elmbridge Proms in the Park was such a success. It is all down to the immense talent of our local artists who gave such a spectacular performance on the night.

"Our congratulations to them all. It was also wonderful to see families having so much fun at Leisure Live on Saturday.

"It was a true celebration of leisure and culture. It gave residents a taste of what is available to do in the borough and I hope it will encourage them to get out and about and to try new things."
