We are writing in response to the article published on page four in last week’s Comet (Shopper stunned after nationwide B&Q ban, June 5).

We would like to say that we believe that B&Q should be thanking Mr Meerabeau for pointing out a health and safety issue in the store.

It does not inspire confidence that they take health and safety very seriously.

Staff and the public have a duty of care to point such things out and this heavy handed attitude of B&Q will do nothing to help their own reputation.

In fact, one almost feels like organising a petition or boycott of the store.
